HC Deb 02 May 1967 vol 746 c38W
56. Mr. Ellis

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what is his estimate of the total benefit to individual ratepayers in the City of Bristol as a result of the Rating Act, 1966; and how this compares with the benefit received under the Rating (Interim Relief) Act, 1964.

Mr. MacColl

Under the Rating Act, 1966, rate rebates in Bristol in 1966–67, the first full year of the scheme, amounted to about £123,000. Under the Rating (Interim Relief) Act, 1964, the total amount of rate relief for individual ratepayers for the whole of the three years 1964–65 to 1966–67 was £1,168.
