Miss Lestor

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects the Wilson Committee to report on immigration procedure; and whether legislation made necessary by the report will be introduced during the next Session of Parliament.

I understand from the Chairman that the Committee on Immigration Appeals hopes to be able to submit its report before the end of July, although the complexity of its task makes it impossible for it to give an unqualified assurance that it will be able to do so. It would be premature for me
