§ 33. Mrs. Joyce Butler
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will include in the new regulations dealing with nightdresses for children and adults provision for the marking of the material sold for making such clothing so as to indicate whether it has been treated against inflammability.
§ Mr. Roy Jenkins
Any fabric which is chemically treated to make it flame resistant is already marked by the pro-302W cessers. There would be serious practical difficulties in requiring untreated fabrics sold by the piece to carry a warning, but the Working Party on Inflammable Clothing is still studying this problem. I do not propose on this account to delay the making of new regulations dealing with the safety of nightdresses.
