Taylorasked the Prime Minister whether, having completed his discussions with all the countries comprising the Common Market, he will now seek the agreement of the Trades Union Congress to Great Britain's acceptance of the relevant clause of the Treaty of Rome dealing with the free movement of labour.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Government are aware of the importance of this provision of the Treaty of Rome, but, as the House knows, no decision has yet been taken whether or not to open negotiations for membership of the European Economic Community.
