HC Deb 02 March 1967 vol 742 cc133-4W
48. Sir Knox Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he is satisfied that all local education authorities comply with his advice to renew at regular intervals, preferably weekly, the orders for milk distribution to the pupils of secondary schools in their respective areas; and what steps he is taking to remind those authorities which do not comply with his advice and so cause waste through unwanted and unused milk which has been ordered at the beginning of each term.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

My right hon. Friend is satisfied that his advice on this matter is generally followed. Returns are periodically checked and any over-ordering is taken up with the local education authorities concerned. If the hon. Member knows of any specific instance of over-ordering and will give me details I shall be glad to look into it.
