asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many kidney machines are currently operating in Scotland.

Mr. Ross

There are 14 machines currently operating in Scotland for the maintenance treatment by intermittent haemodialysis of patients in chronic renal failure.

There are also five machines available for the treatment of patients in acute renal failure.
