Mr. John Smithasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state separately the percentage change in the public and private sectors' gross domestic fixed capital formation, both revalued at 1958 prices and seasonally adjusted, between the first and second halves of 1961, and between the first and second halves of 1966.
§ Mr. CallaghanCapital formation in the public sector increased by 4 per cent. in the first period and by about 5½ per cent. in the second. The corresponding 229W changes in private sector capital formation were an increase of 2½ per cent. and a decrease of the same amount respectively.
