asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps he has taken to obtain compensation from the Guatemalan Government for the bombing of the British steamer s.s. "Springfjord" off the port of San Jose on 27th June, 1954.

Her Majesty's Government have been unable to continue to pursue this claim effectively since the Guatemalan Government broke off diplomatic relations in 1963.
