§ Mr. Thorntonasked the President of the Board of Trade, what contribution he is making towards the cost of the Textile Council's Productivity and Efficiency Study.
§ Mr. JayI am making a grant of £35,500 to the Textile Council to meet the cost of employing outside consultants to undertake an international cost comparison and a study of marketing in the United Kingdom. Most of the grant will be payable during the current financial year. I shall be presenting a Supplementary Estimate in due course, but in the meantime any necessary advances will be made from the Civil Contingencies Fund.
