HC Deb 26 July 1967 vol 751 c133W
10 and 11 Mr. Hamling

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will set up an inquiry into the facilities for selling food in London street markets, the conditions under which food is sold, and comparative prices for similar articles sold in different markets and in different localities;

(2) whether he will introduce legislation to regulate the marking of price tickets for goods in food shops and markets.

Mr. John Mackie

I do not think a case has been made out for a general inquiry into the sales of food in London street markets, nor do I think special legislation is called for on the marking of food prices. If, however, the hon. Member has any specific points I should be pleased to see that they are looked at by the appropriate Department.
