§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, in view of the fact that of goods and services purchased by Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom only 2 per cent. thereof are purchased and hired in Wales, he will make a study of the position with a view to increasing substantially the percentage of such goods and services purchased or hired in Wales.
§ Mr. DiamondA measure of preference is given to firms in Development Areas, including Wales, when Government orders are placed. Wales also benefits from the Government's more general measures in aid of those areas, including the Regional Employment Premium. I intend to keep the position under review.
