HC Deb 13 July 1967 vol 750 cc125-6W
46. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he is aware of the concern felt by the London Borough of Newham at his decision on Newham's school building programme, including cutting the Odessa/St. James Primary School from a four-form to a two-form entry, stopping the Woodgrange Junior Mixed and Infants School from being built and preventing extra forms for the Rokeby High School, Forest Gate High School, St. James Junior Mixed and Infants School; and whether he will review this situation, in view of the education problems confronting the London Borough of Newham.

Mr. Denis Howell

My right hon. Friend was unable to find room in the approved programme for 1968–69 for the Woodgrange, Rokeby, and Forest Gate projects though he did include the Odessa and St. James projects in the form stated. But he has not received any representations from the Newham Authority on the subject.
