HC Deb 31 January 1967 vol 740 c86W
Mr. Hastings

asked the Postmaster-General what is the increase in the quarterly charge for telephone coin boxes in public houses this year.

Mr. Edward Short

The quarterly charge for all rented coin boxes has been increased from £1 to £2 10s. 0d. At the same time the renters' rebate on the money they collect has also been increased. The combined effect will depend on the number of calls made from a particular box, the renter being better off if his box is used frequently.

Overall, Post Office revenue from this source is expected to fall.
