§ Mr. Costainasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list in tabular form the main direct and indirect taxes levied in the United Kingdom and in the Common Market countries, giving the estimated yield of each and expressing each as a proportion of the national income of the respective country.

The figures then given were taken from information supplied by O.E.C.D. which does not give details for the individual taxes within the general categories of "direct" and "indirect".—[Vol. 739, c.122.]
