Member for Louth; and if he will take action to make his Department work more efficiently.

Subject to the need for reasonable economy in expenditure on the public service, of which the hon. Member is an advocate, we are taking all possible steps to deal promptly with the greatly increased volume of inquiries on immigration and nationality.
