§ Mr. Lomasasked the Minister of Social Security whether an ex-gratia payment of £25 made at Christmas ranks as income for a pensioner when assessing deductions in accordance with the earnings rule.
§ Mr. PentlandUnder regulations made in 1965 the first £10 of any Christmas bonus received by a retirement pensioner from his employer is disregarded for the purposes of the earnings rule. Income other than earnings does not affect a retirement pension.
