Member for Tyne-mouth on the subject of the future of the Consett Steel Works, in respect of the meeting held by the Tyneside Chamber of Commerce; and why, in view of his undertaking to keep the hon. Member for Tynemouth informed, he has not done so, but has given that information to other Members of Parliament.

Member's letters to me on this subject I agreed to receive a deputation from the Tyneside Chamber of Commerce after, the National Steel Corporation had submitted to me its proposals for the organisation of the public sector of the steel industry. I will keep this undertaking.
