§ Mr. George ThomsonNo. While we believe that the People's Republic of China should be seated in the United Nations and its Specialised Agencies, a decision of this sort should first be taken in the General Assembly, as my hon. Friend, the then Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, said in her reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Sheffield, Heeley (Mr. Hooley) on 7th November, 1966.—[Vol. 735, c.206.]
