HC Deb 17 February 1967 vol 741 cc184-5W
Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will now take steps to raise the permitted minimum height of aircraft flying over central London when approaching Heathrow in order to reduce disturbance from noise.

Mr. Jay

I cannot make any significant changes. However, when parallel landings are not in operation, aircraft more than eleven nautical miles East of London (Heathrow) Airport will not now be permitted to descend below 3,000 ft. instead of the former 2,000 ft. minimum.

I have placed a map in the library showing the areas affected by these new instructions.
