HC Deb 15 February 1967 vol 741 cc108-9W
Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will publish a table listing all the burghs, large and small, counties and cities in Scotland and showing the number of houses completed by them in 1966, the number currently under construction, the target for completions in 1967, and the estimated waiting list.

Mr. Ross

Figures for houses under construction are shown in the quarterly Housing Return. Figures for completions in 1966 can be derived from the Returns, but for ease of reference I am sending the hon. Member a note of them. Local authorities have not been asked for their targets for completions in 1967, or for information about their waiting lists.

Mr. Edward M. Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many houses are planned for starting by the Scottish Special Housing Association in Glasgow and in the rest of Scotland, respectively, in the year 1966–67 and in each of the years 1967–68, 1968–69 and 1969–70, respectively.

Mr. Ross

In Glasgow, under present commitments, the Association will start 535 houses in 1966–67, 465 in 1967–68 and 305 in 1968–69. Other direct contributions to Glasgow's housing needs will be made in selected developments outside the city, including overspill receiving areas. In Scotland as a whole the Association plans to start 1,700 houses in 1966–67 and reach 5,000 starts a year by 1969–70.
