HC Deb 15 February 1967 vol 741 c95W
46. Dr. John Dunwoody

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take steps to ensure that where date stamping of foodstuffs is carried out that it shall be done in such a way as to be easily understood by the consumer.

Mr. Hoy

In their Report on Food Labelling the Food Standards Committee gave their reasons for making no recommendation on date stamping. This question is one of those to be considered before new food labelling regulations are made, but we cannot give an undertaking such as my hon. Friend asks for.
