HC Deb 15 February 1967 vol 741 cc116-7W
91. Sir H. Harrison

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he is taking to prohibit the import of foreign eggs.

Mr. Jay

None.

93. Mr. Awdry

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he intends to take to prevent the dumping of eggs into this country to the detriment of British farmers.

Mr. Brewis

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that eggs are at present being dumped from abroad on the United Kingdom market; and what action he proposes to take.

Mr. Jay

The industry has been informed that, if it considers that eggs are being dumped in this country and are causing or threatening material injury to the industry, it is open to it to apply to the Board of Trade for the imposition of an anti-dumping duty under the Customs Duties (Dumping and Subsidies) Act, 1957. Any such application would be considered on its merits.
