HC Deb 14 February 1967 vol 741 cc91-2W
Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will consider establishing a permanent commission to review the position of the Welsh language in Wales from time to time and to be responsible for translations and publica- tions necessary for the preservation of the language.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

There are various bodies with functions in this field and I shall consider whether further machinery is needed.

Mr. Gwynfor Evans

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he has inquired into the comparative costs of publishing bilingual forms and separate forms in both Welsh and English; what the estimated comparative costs are; and if he will accelerate the publication of bilingual forms.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

I have nothing to add to the Answer I gave on 24th October to a similar Question from my hon. Friend the Member for Swansea, West (Mr. Alan Williams).—[Vol. 734, c.120–1.]
