HC Deb 14 February 1967 vol 741 c80W
Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that farmers in the Inverness area who submitted their claims for repayment of the Selective Employment Tax at the end of December as prescribed have received neither acknowledgment nor repayment; and whether he will now take action to secure them this repayment.

Mr. Ross

Over 12,000 claims have been received from employers in Scotland since the end of December, and these are being examined as quickly as possible. I expect that the first repayments will be made this week, and that most claims will be dealt with before the end of February.
