Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Minister of Labour how many disabled persons were sent from Scotland to England for training last year, category by category.

Mr. Hattersley

Thirty-six disabled people came to England in 1966 for training sponsored or conducted by the Ministry. Of these 19 men and 4 women attended residential training colleges run by voluntary bodies with financial help from the Ministry, whilst 13 men went to Government training centres.

Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Minister of Labour how many registered disabled were unemployed in Scotland at the latest available date; and what percentage of the total registered disabled this represents.

Mr. Fernyhough

At 9th January, 1967, there were in Scotland 7,607 registered disabled persons who were registered as unemployed, representing 11.9 per cent. of all persons on the disabled persons register.
