Mr. Shawasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what progress has been made in providing for the transferability of pension rights of local government officers and teachers who are elected to Parliament.
§ Mr. MacCollSo far as local government officers are concerned consultations are in hand with other Government Departments and, when these are concluded, draft rules will be put to the trustees of the Members Pension fund and to the local authority and staff associations. I understand that my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science is in a similar position with regard to teachers.
