§ 61. Mr. Biffenasked the Minister of Labour if he has considered the findings of the Graduate Appointments Register, a copy of which has been sent to him. which revealed that 283 of 2,000 graduates interviewed by them had received pay increases between July and November, 1966; how many of these increases were notified to and approved by him; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. GunterI have considered this report and I am encouraged by its confirmation of the Government's belief that the standstill has been loyally observed by the great majority of employers and workers. According to the report, most of the 283 pay increases were for reasons permitted by Government policy. As the cases described in the report were anonymous, it is not possible to say how many of the increases were notified to my Department.
