asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs what action he is taking to encourage the implementation of the recommendations of the Northern Economic Planning Council on their study, Challenge of the Changing North.

Many of the recommendations in the study were addressed to organizations within the region itself, and will be followed up by the Planning Council and Board. Those of the recommendations which were addressed to the Government are being carefully examined by the various Departments concerned.
