Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the Minister of Transport if she will give an estimate of the notional grant for road maintenance to be included in the rate support grant to local authorities for 1967–68.
§ Mr. SwinglerThe rate support grant is not earmarked for particular services but of the relevant expenditure on highways which was taken into account in assessing the grant some £130 million is for road maintenance.
