§ Mr. Brooksasked the Minister of Aviation whether he will state the contracting procedure followed by the Anglo-French Committee of Officials awarding contracts for the supply of equipment and components for the Anglo-French Concord; and whether such contracts as have been awarded refer to the prototype aircraft only.
§ Mr. StonehouseThe procedure agreed between the French and British Governments with regard to the selection of suppliers for major equipment provides for the main manufacturers to make joint recommendations to the two Governments with whom the final decision rests. The contracts for the equipment and components chosen are placed by the main airframe contractors. Those placed so far cover the prototype aircraft only.
§ Mr. Brooksasked the Minister of Aviation whether any of the United States airlines which have placed options for the Concord specified that certain items of equipment should be of United States manufacture.
