HC Deb 21 December 1967 vol 756 c482W
Mr. Ridley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce emergency legislation to extend the shooting season beyond the end of January, 1968, because of the foot-and-mouth epidemic, in view of the fact that only six weeks remains of the season and the decision cannot wait until the House resumes.

Mr. Ennals:

I will consider the matter, but I can hold out no hope of immediate amending legislation.
