asked the Minister of Health if, in order to maintain progress towards achievement of a balance of payments surplus, he will introduce legislation to reimpose prescription charges forthwith.

Legislation would not be required for this purpose, and I have nothing to add to the Statement made on 18th December by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister about possible measures towards the objective indicated by the hon. Member.—[Vol. 756, c. 921–341
