§ Mr. Carmichael:Total public expenditure on roads in Great Britain during the five financial years 1960–61 to 1964–65 amounted to £1,527 million. This compares with total public expenditure and estimated total public expenditure on roads during the five financial years 1965–66 to 1969–70 of £2,700 million.
