§ Mr. Grimondasked the Minister of Transport what steps she is taking to relieve the road transport services in places where there is no alternative form of transport from the effects of the proposed heavier duties.
§ Mr. Swingler:Heavy lorries and lorries carrying abnormal loads cause additional wear and tear and congestion on the roads in all parts of the country. We have no plans to exempt particular areas from the new road haulage and abnormal loads charges.
