HC Deb 11 December 1967 vol 756 c24W
Mr. Winnick

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will make a statement on the United States bombing of the British Consulate-General Building in Hanoi, North Vietnam; and what representations have been made by Her Majesty's Government to the United States of America over this matter.

Mr. George Brown

Her Majesty's Consul-General in Hanoi reported that during an air raid on 17th November an aircraft rocket fell near to his house and the Consular Office. Both buildings were shaken and were struck by metal fragments and his house had a good many windows broken. We have been in touch with the United States Government, who have expressed regrets at any damage that might have been caused by United States air action and are seeking to establish the facts of the incident.
