South-East and East Anglia were formerly covered by London and South-Eastern, and Eastern and Southern regions East Midlands, West Midlands and Yorkshire and Humberside comprise the area covered by Midland, North Midland and East and West Ridings in 1951 and by Midlands and Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in 1963 and 1964.
