asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he will take steps to establish a passenger transport authority for Wales.

The proposals in the White Paper on Public Transport and Traffic (Cmnd. 3481) involve an important addition to my right hon. Friend's functions. He will be considering how these proposals might be best applied in Wales including the possibility that a Passenger Transport Authority should be established for the whole or a part of the Principality.
