HC Deb 11 December 1967 vol 756 cc66-7W
Mr. E. Rowlands

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will now conduct a survey of empty factories in the Greater London area with a view to ascertaining how many square feet of vacant factory space exists within this area which will not require any additional industrial development certificates.

Mr. Darling

The information to be derived from such a survey would not be of sufficient value to jutisfy the work involved. Advertisements offering industrial premises for sale or rent suggest that several million square feet of industrial space are available at any one time in Greater London, though this is a small proportion of the total industrial space in the area.
