§ 48. Mr. Willisasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress has been made, and is being made, through central and local government action, in encouraging the growth of the arts in Scotland.
§ Mr. MillanGovernment expenditure on the arts, including the National Museums, Library and Galleries has risen from £696,000 in 1964–65 to an estimated £1,251,000 in 1967–68 and I am sure that this has resulted in much increased activity in the arts in Scotland. One major local authority capital project is under construction.
