§ Mr. Milneasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will make a statement on his policy regarding the choice of fuels in local authority housing schemes.
§ Mr. GreenwoodThe choice of fuels is a matter for each authority to be decided in the light of all the relevant considerations, including cost and convenience. In the case of dwellings for old or handicapped people, this Department has advised against individual solid fuel appliances because of the labour and difficulty which stoking and cleaning may cause to the tenants.
