96. Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he proposes to apply the recommendations of the Mountbatten Committee Report to the Scottish prison administration; and, in particular, whether he accepts the Committee's recommendations on liaison between prisons and local Press representatives.
§ Mr. RossThe recommendations of the Report are being applied as appropriate, and I am always prepared to make arrangements for the Press to visit prisons and interview Governors so as to encourage an active and constructive interest in work carried out by prison staffs at all levels.
