HC Deb 26 April 1967 vol 745 c314W
Mr. Clark Hutchison

asked the Minister of Labour what programme he has for the modernisation and renovation of Ministry of Labour offices in Edinburgh, with particular reference to the one in Lauriston Place.

Mr. Fernyhough

The Employment Exchange in Lauriston Place is to be rehoused in the new building now under construction at Castle Terrace. Negotiations are in progress for fresh accommodation in the Princes Street/Rose Street area for the Rose Street Employment Exchange. Of the remaining offices, the Professional, Executive and Commercial Employment Office is in good modernised premises in George Street; the Portobello Employment Exchange moved into a new building last year and for the Leith Employment Exchange, which is in a good 1930 building, some internal changes are under consideration.
