§ Mr. Pardoeasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs if he will set up a group to study the contribution to industrial development in the South-West which would be made by the construction of a barrage across the River Severn for the purpose of generating hydro-electricity.
§ Mr. ShoreA barrage across the Severn for the purpose of electrical generation has not yet been shown to be viable economically. It would, therefore, be premature to consider a study of its effect on industrial development.
