§ 36. Mr. Ellisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the cost of British forces in Germany in the last five years ended 31st December, 1966; and what has been the total shortfall in contributions to this amount received from the German Government.
§ Mr. CallaghanFigures are not readily available for calendar years. In the five financial years ending 31st March, 1967, the Deutschemark cost is expected to have been £399 million. German offset payments in or in respect of this period will fall short of this figure by about £122 million or 30 per cent.
