HC Deb 14 April 1967 vol 744 c276W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Minister of Social Security what increase or decrease there has been in the staff of her Department since 16th October, 1964; and what increase or decrease she anticipates in the period up to 15th October, 1967.

Miss Herbison

The staff of my Department is greater by 6,851 than the total staff in October, 1964 of the former Ministry of Pensions and National Insurance and the former National Assistance Board. It is estimated that by October, 1967 the staff needed to meet the Department's present commitments will have further increased by about 1,300.
