§ Mr. Onslowasked the President of the Board of Trade what increase or decrease there has been in the staff of his Department since 16th October, 1964; and what increase or decrease he anticipates in the period up to 15th October, 1967.
§ Mr. JayThere has been an increase of 11,460 including 8,613 transferred from the Ministry of Aviation in the Board of Trade and of 156 in the Export Credits Guarantee Department. The former figure includes, in addition to the transfers of shipping and aviation staff referred to in my Answer of 21st October last,
264W1967, and a further increase of 162 is expected by October, 1967. These increases have become necessary in the course of implementing the Government's policies of social and economic development in Scotland.
