§ Mr. Kershawasked the Minister of Transport why there is no sign at the Knockdown crossroads on A433 indicating the whereabouts of this substantial hamlet; what would be the cost of providing such signs; whether she is aware of the inconvenience caused to farmers, tradesmen and travellers by the absence of such signs; and whether she will now provide suitable signs.
§ Mr. John MorrisThe A433 is a classified road and the section at Knockdown is the responsibility of the Gloucestershire County Council as highway authority; they have decided that this hamlet is too small to warrant place name signs, which would cost some £30. On present evidence my right hon. Friend is not prepared to intervene.
