§ Mr. Russell Kerrasked the Minister of Technology what further research and development, and similar work, will be necessary in respect of the 50 F111 aircraft he plans to order from the United States of America after they are delivered to this country; what is the estimated overall cost of this work; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. StonehouseIt is expected that clearance will have been given for the aircraft, and for the functioning of the British equipment which is being fitted, before delivery from the United States. Some further work will be required to prove the aircraft's various operational configurations, but it is not yet possible to state its extent.
