HC Deb 12 April 1967 vol 744 c206W
87. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Minister of Technology what is the estimated cost of the engines for the Concord; and what information on the matter has already been made available to him by the manufacturing company.

Mr. Stonehouse

The current official estimate of the costs of developing Concord is £450 million to be shared equally between Britain and France, plus an overall contingency of £50 million. Of the £450 million, about £180 million is for the engine. The manufacturers provide quarterly reports in which actual costs are compared with budgeted costs.
