Mr. Patrick Jenkin

asked the Minister of Power what advisory committees have been set up in relation to the industries for which he is responsible, on which there are representatives both of the nationalised industries and of the private sector; and what further such advisory committees he proposes to establish.

The following advisory committees associated with my Department have a membership which involves representatives from nationalised and private industry:

  • Energy Advisory Council.
  • Advisory Council on Research and Development.
  • Explosives in Mines Committee.
  • Nuclear Safety Advisory Committee.

I propose to establish also an Iron and Steel Advisory Committee and an Advisory Council on Steel Research and Development.
